| My Feng Shui researches 19 - Formats of the Dragons龍
What Our previous master, Chang Tai Hung蔣大鴻 said in his book, “Five songs of Heaven cycles (Tin Yuen Ng Gor天 元 五 歌)”, chapter of Water dragon (Shui Lung水龍) is “There are many land dragons, but how about the ocean dragon? The most popular theory of the ocean dragon is mixed up with the mountain dragon by guessing! (天下平陽大地多，平洋龍法更如何，世人盡說平洋訣，都把山龍溷揣摩。)”
From this chapter, Master Chang was clear to tell us that dragon was not only one form; it has different kinds of form. Because those masters did not have enough knowledge for it, that’s why they guessed it by their own imaginations. Learning Feng Shui without a good lineage to follow and carry its real knowledge is always poor, it does not only waste your time and money, but it also builds up a bad karma with your wrong practice.
Practice is the king of proving your learning, as the dragons told by Master Chang, we need to find a proper place to prove his saying. The place I chose to research his theory was Winnipeg in Manitoba of Canada. Winnipeg is in the middle of Canada; it does not have too much mountain but has a lot of lakes and rivers.
To research such a big piece of land, our previous masters only could do it either by foot or by horse in the ancient time, but we can do it by car, by ship or by plane now. Some of the laze master may use the “Google” maps to do their research, but the accuracy can not be compared to the field work. Using it as a reference is alright.
I went with my son and we flied with a Cessna-152, we kept our height around 4000 feet which is a better observe position. Under our controlling, we flied around the whole city to find the spot that suitable for our researches.
I always enjoy using different kinds of tool and transportation to help my researches because it will give me different perspectives to enrich my Feng Shui knowledge.
Although the westerns do not have any concept of Feng Shui, but because of the function of the Feng Shui, they will follow the energy of the Feng Shui to arrange their city center, residential area, commercial area, industrial area and agriculture area. If you have good understanding of Feng Shui, you will find those areas organized in a country are so interesting in the Feng Shui perspective.
